David Miller elected to board of Illinois Public Airport Association

During their fall conference in Galena, Illinois last week, the Illinois Public Airport Association (IPAA) elected David C. Miller, director of aviation at St. Louis Regional Airport to serve as a board member for the organization.

The IPAA promotes the development, construction, maintenance and improvement of publicly owned airports and serves as an exchange center for information. One of the largest groups of its kind in the United States, the organization advocates for legislation and public policy beneficial to both aviation and the general public.

“The IPAA is a bi-partisan effort and works to represent all segments of public aviation in Illinois,” said Miller. “I am honored to be selected to serve on the board.”

Miller has worked at St. Louis Regional Airport here in this community since January 1, 2003. Besides his operational responsibilities, he has worked with the Airport Authority to develop the business park and bring good-paying jobs and quality companies to the community.

Miller has been active in both community and professional organizations including the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois, the RiverBend Growth Association and the Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau.

A Command Pilot with over 4,500 hours of flight time, Miller has held a Commercial Pilot Certificate with an instrument rating and has served as a member of the advisory board for the Aviation Pilot Training Program at Southwestern Illinois College.
