21st Annual Open House and Fly In at St. Louis Regional Airport
Mark your calendar to attend the 21st Annual Open House and Fly In at St. Louis Regional Airport. We are expecting more than 100 airplanes and more than 300 automobiles from the region and the midwest. The Radio-controlled planes that were such a hit at last year event will be back courtesy of the East Side RC Club.
The Fly In car show has quickly become one of the largest shows in the Midwest attracting entries from as far away as Tennessee, Iowa and Wisconsin. New technology will be showcased as well as antique autos, hot rods, custom cars and motorcycles.
The High Flyers Grille will be open as well as food and drink vendors out on the grounds. Families are welcome to bring picnic baskets. There will be activities for kids and a multi-national firearms display that will give adults and kids alike a close up view of historical weapons. The Amateur Radio Emergency Service will have a demonstration station on-the-air.
Though the planes and cars will be gone on Sunday, September 27, kids age 8-17 can return with their parents for free flights sponsored by the EAA Chapter 864 Young Eagles. Registration will take place on Sunday.
Admission and parking are completely free. Signs will mark the way from Hwy. 111. Planes should register in advance, when possible, by calling St. Louis Regional at 618-259-2531.
