The variety of transportation options in and around the region is one reason the manager of St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto thinks the area is ready to explode with new development. The airport is located on Highway 111, just off Illinois 255.
In a recent appearance on Let’s Talk on The Big Z, David Miller says the airport is just one aspect of the intermodal potential of the area.
Miller says there are several non-aeronautical businesses operating on the airport ground, and expects plans to be announced soon for the redevelopment of the old Wayside Estates subdivision across Highway 111 from the airport.
